Major HVAC Upgrade Completed at Sedgwick County Health Center

It was a big day at Sedgwick County Health Center!
A brand-new 6,800-pound rooftop air handling unit was successfully installed, bringing reliable heating and air conditioning to our inpatient wing, nurses station, radiology office, and surrounding areas. This new system replaces a 30-year-old unit that had reached the end of its service life and was no longer practical to maintain. We are thrilled to see this important year-long project come to fruition.
This project would not have been possible without the incredible support of our local foundations. We extend our sincere gratitude to the William Stretesky Foundation, the Marquardt Foundation, and the Thomas D. Buckley Trust for helping make this upgrade a reality. Their generosity continues to strengthen healthcare in our community.
We would also like to thank the dedicated team at Trane, along with the engineers, electricians, plumbers, crane operators, and everyone involved in safely removing the old unit and installing the new one. Your professionalism and teamwork ensured the project was completed safely and successfully.
We are truly humbled by the support of our community and grateful for all who help us continue improving care at SCHC.
