Financial & Billing

Sedgwick County Health Center is committed to clear, fair, and compassionate billing practices. We work with patients to understand their financial responsibility and provide options for payment and assistance.

Billing & Collections Information

Billing Process

  • After services are provided, a bill will be sent to you via mail.
  • Insurance will be billed first when applicable
  • You are responsible for any remaining balance, including co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance, and non-covered services

Payment Expectations

  • Payment is expected at the time of service when possible.

Payment Options

  • We accept cash, checks, and major credit cards
  • You can pay via mail, in person, or online using our bill pay website
  • Payment plans may be available for those who qualify
  • Our team can help determine eligibility for Medicaid or other assistance programs

Financial Assistance

If you are unable to pay your bill, financial assistance may be available based on your financial situation.

  • Eligibility is based on income and household size
  • Patients may be asked to complete a financial assistance application
  • Assistance may include reduced or discounted care

Collections Practices

We make reasonable efforts to contact patients and offer payment options before any collection activity occurs.

Sedgwick County Health Center does not take extraordinary collection actions (such as lawsuits, wage garnishment, or credit reporting) until reasonable efforts have been made to determine whether a patient qualifies for financial assistance.

Accounts that remain unpaid after multiple attempts to resolve the balance may be referred to a collection agency.
